Seller Transparency

Sellers must provide accurate business information and identify the seller responsible for their products.

Accurate Listings

Product descriptions, prices, condition, availability and delivery information must be accurate and current.

Customer Protection

Sellers must cooperate with order support, returns, refunds, warranty claims and complaint resolution.

01

Overview

DayByDeals is a South African online marketplace operated by Day By Deals (Pty) Ltd. Products may be offered directly by DayByDeals or by participating third-party marketplace sellers.

These Marketplace Seller Standards describe the requirements applicable to sellers offering products through the DayByDeals marketplace.

Sellers must comply with applicable South African law, these standards and other relevant DayByDeals policies. Nothing in these standards limits customers' statutory rights.

02

Seller Eligibility

Sellers applying to participate in DayByDeals must be legally entitled to offer the products they intend to sell.

  • Provide accurate business or individual seller details.
  • Have the authority to sell the products listed.
  • Hold any licences, permits or approvals required for their product categories.
  • Be able to fulfil orders and provide appropriate customer support.
  • Comply with applicable tax and consumer-protection obligations.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval or continued marketplace access.

03

Seller Verification & Business Information

DayByDeals may request information reasonably necessary to verify a seller's identity, business details and suitability to participate in the marketplace.

Depending on the seller and product category, this may include business registration information, contact details, trading address, banking information or relevant product authorisation documents.

Keeping seller information current

Sellers must promptly update material changes to their business details, contact information and fulfilment arrangements.

The applicable seller must be identifiable to customers through the relevant product listing or transaction information.

04

Accurate Product Listings

Sellers are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the product information they submit to DayByDeals.

  • Use accurate product names, brands and model numbers.
  • Clearly disclose whether goods are new, used, refurbished, compatible or remanufactured, where applicable.
  • Provide relevant specifications, dimensions and compatibility information.
  • Use images that accurately represent the products being offered.
  • Clearly disclose material limitations, exclusions and included accessories.
  • Provide accurate warranty information where applicable.
  • Avoid unsupported performance claims and misleading promotional descriptions.

Sellers must correct inaccurate or outdated listings promptly after becoming aware of an issue.

DayByDeals may review, correct, restrict or remove listings that do not meet marketplace requirements.

05

Product Authenticity & Intellectual Property

Sellers must offer products that they are legally entitled to sell and must accurately describe their origin and condition.

Counterfeit products, misleading brand representations and unauthorised use of intellectual property are prohibited.

A compatible or third-party product must not be represented as an original branded product. Sellers must make material distinctions clear to customers.

DayByDeals may request supplier invoices, authorisation documents or other reasonable evidence when investigating authenticity concerns.

Publication of a listing does not mean that DayByDeals has independently authenticated every listed product.

06

Prohibited & Restricted Products

Sellers must not list products prohibited by applicable law or DayByDeals marketplace policies.

Certain products may require additional verification, licences, documentation or marketplace approval before being offered.

Sellers must not attempt to bypass category restrictions through misleading descriptions or incorrect categorisation.

Prohibited & Restricted Products Policy →
07

Pricing, Promotions & Stock

Sellers are responsible for maintaining accurate product prices and stock information.

  • Display accurate prices in South African Rand.
  • Disclose applicable delivery charges and other mandatory charges through the relevant marketplace process.
  • Keep stock quantities and availability up to date.
  • Ensure promotional claims and discounts are accurate.
  • Promptly correct identified pricing or stock errors.

Sellers must not advertise products as available when they know the products cannot reasonably be supplied.

Where a stock or pricing issue affects an order, the seller must promptly cooperate with DayByDeals to communicate the available options to the customer.

08

Order Management & Fulfilment

Sellers must manage marketplace orders responsibly and keep order information accurate.

  • Review incoming orders promptly.
  • Confirm stock and fulfilment capability.
  • Prepare the correct product and quantity.
  • Use appropriate packaging for the product.
  • Update order and dispatch information through the available marketplace process.
  • Notify DayByDeals promptly of delays, shortages or fulfilment problems.

Sellers must not mark an order as dispatched before it has actually been handed over for delivery.

Where an order cannot be fulfilled, sellers must cooperate in arranging an appropriate resolution, including a refund where required.

09

Delivery & Dispatch Standards

Sellers must provide realistic handling and delivery estimates based on their actual fulfilment arrangements.

Any seller-specific delivery charges, geographic restrictions or additional handling requirements must be communicated through the applicable marketplace process.

Sellers must supply accurate dispatch and tracking information when available and assist with investigating delayed, missing or incorrectly delivered orders.

Delivery transparency

The delivery information presented to customers must be consistent with the seller's actual fulfilment capability and the charges applied at checkout.

10

Returns, Cancellations & Refunds

Sellers must cooperate with DayByDeals when customers request an eligible return, order cancellation or refund.

DayByDeals publishes a 30-calendar-day return policy for eligible change-of-mind purchases. Sellers must follow the applicable marketplace return procedures.

DayByDeals aims to process approved refunds within seven working days, subject to applicable return and assessment requirements. Statutory deadlines take precedence.

Sellers must provide accurate information and cooperate with reasonable requests for product assessment, collection, replacement or refund arrangements.

Consumer rights

Marketplace procedures and seller-specific terms must not restrict any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11

Faulty Products & Warranty Claims

Sellers must cooperate with the investigation and resolution of claims involving faulty, damaged, incorrect or materially misdescribed goods.

Product-specific manufacturer or seller warranties must be described accurately. Additional warranties do not replace statutory consumer protections.

Sellers may be required to provide relevant product information, proof of supply or other documents needed to assess a claim.

Sellers must not reject a valid statutory claim solely because a voluntary change-of-mind return period has expired.

Warranty & Faulty Products Policy →
12

Customer Service & Communication

Sellers must communicate professionally and provide accurate information about their products and orders.

  • Respond to marketplace order enquiries within applicable agreed service periods.
  • Communicate material delays or fulfilment problems promptly.
  • Cooperate with DayByDeals customer support.
  • Provide relevant information for returns, refunds and warranty investigations.
  • Avoid abusive, discriminatory or misleading communications.

Sellers must not direct customers to make unauthorised payments outside the DayByDeals checkout process.

13

Customer Information & Privacy

Customer information provided to sellers must be used only for authorised order fulfilment and related customer-service purposes, unless another lawful basis applies.

Sellers must take appropriate steps to protect personal information and prevent unauthorised access or disclosure.

Customer contact information must not be used for unrelated marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.

Sellers must notify DayByDeals promptly if they become aware of a security incident involving marketplace customer information.

Privacy Policy →
14

Acceptable Seller Conduct

Sellers must use the marketplace lawfully and responsibly.

  • Do not submit fraudulent orders or transactions.
  • Do not manipulate product reviews or customer feedback.
  • Do not impersonate another seller or brand.
  • Do not interfere with marketplace security.
  • Do not publish misleading seller credentials or certifications.
  • Do not attempt to evade an account restriction through another account.
  • Do not misuse customer or competitor information.

Sellers must comply with applicable intellectual-property, competition and consumer-protection laws.

15

Marketplace Compliance Reviews

DayByDeals may review seller information, listings, fulfilment records and customer complaints to assess compliance with marketplace requirements.

Where reasonably necessary, sellers may be asked to correct information or provide relevant supporting documents.

A marketplace review does not mean that DayByDeals has independently inspected or certified every product offered by a seller.

16

Non-Compliance & Enforcement

DayByDeals may take proportionate action where a seller fails to comply with marketplace standards.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • Requesting corrections to a listing.
  • Temporarily restricting affected products.
  • Requesting additional verification documents.
  • Restricting access to particular selling features.
  • Suspending or terminating marketplace selling access where justified.

Any action will be considered in light of the relevant circumstances, applicable seller agreements and law.

Enforcement action does not remove a seller's outstanding obligations to customers or other parties.

17

Complaints & Seller Appeals

Sellers may contact DayByDeals to raise a concern about a marketplace decision, customer complaint or compliance issue.

Sellers should provide their seller account details, relevant order or listing references and supporting information.

DayByDeals will review the information and communicate the applicable next steps.

DayByDeals may update these Marketplace Seller Standards to reflect operational, marketplace or legal changes.
