How to Choose the Right Printer Cartridge
Printer cartridges can look similar while fitting different printers. Before ordering ink or toner, check the exact model of your printer and the cartridge number it uses. A few minutes of checking can help you choose the right product.
1. Find your printer model
Look for the model name or number on the front or back of the printer, in its settings, or in its manual. Write down the full model number, including any letters or numbers at the end.
2. Check the cartridge number
If you still have the old cartridge or its packaging, check the number printed on it. Compare that number with the product title and compatibility information on the listing. Do not rely on the product image alone.
3. Choose ink or toner
Ink cartridges are used in inkjet printers. Toner cartridges are used in laser printers. Check your printer’s requirements before you buy.
4. Check exactly what is included
Read the product listing to see whether you are buying one cartridge, a colour set or a multipack. Also check the stated colour and page yield where those details are provided.
5. Check whether the cartridge is original or compatible
An original cartridge is made by the printer brand. A compatible cartridge is made by another manufacturer for use with specified printers. Check the product listing for its stated type and compatible printer models before ordering.
6. Review the seller and order details
